stARTT is the common name under which Simone Capra (1978), Claudio Castaldo (1978), Francesco Colangeli (1982) and Dario Scaravelli (1981) have been working together since 2008.

stARTT is the acronym of office for architecture and territorial transformations, the choice of the name indicates a precise posture in the profession and architectural research that identifies the project as part of a larger complex territory in which people, landscapes, cultures and economy interact.

stARTT’s attitude is to work in the anthropised environment at several levels of intervention and at different degrees of complexity.
stARTT has received several awards and mentions including the European Architecture Award for Under 35, YAP MAXXI 2011, with the Whatami project; in 2012 it is invited to represent Italy at the international meeting La jeune architecture européenne in Paris at the Pavillon de l’Arsenal; in February 2013 was inaugurated th exhibition FUTURE: Architecture e(s)t Paysage_stARTT
on the office’s projects at the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris. In December 2013, stARTT was selected for Small Utopias, the exhibition promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the promotion of Italian architecture abroad. In 2014, stARTT presented its works at Fundamentals, the 14th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, in the sections Monditalia at the Ex Corderie dell’Arsenale and at Padiglione Italia.
In recent years, stARTT has led and continues to carry out the realization of several projects that have been selected for quality and innovation.

SIMONE CAPRA

Graduated with honors in architecture at the University of Roma Tre (Rome) in 2004, professor Alessandro Anselmi.
He worked in different offices, Italians and foreigners, including Torres-Martinez-Tur y Lapena arquitectos, B720, 2TR architecture, APST.
Since 2003 he is interested in theoretical reflections concerning architecture and transformation of territory; he founded, with others, the Labò research group.
He participated in several international research projects including: “Post-it City” on occasional uses of public spaces, at the CASM – Centre d’Art Santa Mònica, Barcelona; “Campagna Romana”, coordinated by Stalker, on the transformation of the metropolitan area of Rome; “de-scrivere il territorio in trasformazione” at the Italian Geographic Society, Rome.
Since 2012 he is PhD architect at the ‘University of IUAV – Villard De Honnecourt International Program.
In 2008 he launches the stARTT project.

CLAUDIO CASTALDO

He graduated in architecture on May 2006, at the University of Roma Tre (Rome), professor Francesco Bianchi.
From 2002 he collaborated with different architectural firms as expert in three-dimensional modeling, using computer systems as tool to support the design and taking part to several international competitions.
He teaches at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome.
In 2008 he launches the stARTT project.

FRANCESCO COLANGELI

Graduated with honors in architecture at the University of Roma Tre (Rome) in 2010, professor Valerio Palmieri.
He worked in different offices, Italians and foreigners, including Stefano Cordeschi and Pierre-Louis Faloci Architecte.
Since 2003 he is interested in theoretical reflections concerning architecture and transformation of territory; he founded, with others, the Labò research group.
In 2010 he joined stARTT project.

DARIO SCARAVELLI

Graduated in architecture at the University of Roma Tre (Rome) in 2007, professor Francesco Cellini.
He worked in different offices, Italians and foreigners, including stARTT and Archi5, taking part to several international competitions.
Since 2004 he is interested in theoretical reflections concerning architecture and transformation of territory; he founded, with others, the Labò research group.
In 2013 he joined stARTT project.
