PRELIMINARY DESIGN
The intervention aims to recover and reuse Palazzo Ridolfi and some houses in the center of Corchiano in order to achieve an orientation center of the routes in the adjacent territory and a municipally owned hotel in the ancient fabric of the town. The project is configured as a complex study to recover Palazzo Ridolfi, able to return the entire body construction, with a careful restoration to replace the wealth and the stratification of the architecture types over the centuries from the Etruscan underground level to the present set reached in the XVI century. The information point is the heart of the project and is located on the ground floor of Palazzo Ridolfi. It is a flexible space, able to welcome visitors, whether they are interested in accommodation, or in information and discovering nature, historical or archaeological tours. The bet is matching, at the level of communication, this space with an ideal map, needed to read and understand the Faliscan landscape in the territory of Corchiano. The setting of the space sites a number of display in brushed aluminum, which is possible to interact manually with, projecting or containing, like binoculars on the landscape, stories and pictures useful to identify the different routes in the area. The orientation point is reconnected to the whole building in order to communicate with the rooms, dedicated to receptive function of the first and second floor; with the tower, which is complementary to the ground and vantage watching point of the landscape; finally with the Etrurian underground tunnels, overlooking the system of the gorges.
