I-ZWICKY

In the project for the new Auditorium – Conference Hall of the Municipality of Latina, STARTT transposes a functional request onto a poetic space: the result is a comfortable place under an imaginary constellation.

The project meets the administration’s requests of a small auditorium for press conferences to be obtained by renovating the former attic of the municipal building and equipping it with advanced communication technology.
The essentially technical nature of the task has been interpreted as a fantastic/dreamlike suggestion with the aim of transposing a functional space onto a poetic plane. The result is a white, muffled space, defined by a system of false walls and ceilings and marked only by the light sources: suspended light dots that draw an imaginary constellation, I-ZWICKY.
The different lighting combinations create each time the more appropriate ambient depending on the room’s use.
