CASABELLA dedicates issue 956 to architecture for theatres.
In the editorial ‘Why Theatre architecture?’ Francesca Serrazanetti explains the selection of the theatres presented in the issue starting from the question that director Milo Rau asked more than 100 protagonists of the contemporary scene: Why Theatre?
“CASABELLA presents some recent projects of theatres built in different parts of the world, giving space to different typologies (for music, for theatre, for dance, for performative research), to different sizes (halls from 100 up to 900 seats), to recovery projects as well as to new constructions.” We participate to this number with our work on Teatro Rossini, where we realized a second hall for spectacles hybridizing the contemporary theatre for performances with the tradition of the Italian Opera Theatre.
